Garden of the Gods
This one above is called "Kissing Camels"
I ran a race here back in May but I wasn't able to really appreciate how beautiful it is. So we went back for a day trip with the kids and were able to walk around and really see everything.

Camping at Turquoise Lake
Over Labor Day weekend we went camping at Turquoise Lake with Jameson and Spring. It was really beautiful but freezing cold. We knew it was going to be cold so we left Peyton with Grandma, which turned out well because she had two ear infections. Mason's favorite part was throwing rocks in the lake. He literally did that for almost an hour straight and was still mad when we wanted to walk back to the campsite.

Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon

I did it!! I completed my first half marathon without dying. I ran the whole way even though my knee started freaking out at mile two (the first 5 miles of the race were on rocky dirt road, that threw my knee all out of whack) My running buddies Stephanie and Roberta and I got a hotel room up in Georgetown the night before and had a nice dinner and relaxed in the hot tub (a great way to spend the night before a race). The smaller pictures above were taken by the official race photographer, Brightroom Photography. These are the pictures Zach took of Steph and I sprinting to the finish line. Knowing that Zach and the kids were going to be at the finish line is what kept me going most of the time.

Mason started his second year of preschool on Monday. He has the same teacher he had last year. The big difference is now he gets to ride his bike to school with no training wheels. Next year is going to be crazy because Peyton will start preschool and Mason will be in kindergarten.

He Likes to Ride His Bicycle!
Well I got a very interesting call the other day from Meredith. It went something like this..."Your son has a big surprise for you when you get home." Turned out he can ride his bike without training wheels! A lot better surprise than what I had in mind (paint on walls, broken bones, poop/pee accident in prominent place, vomit in prominent place). Apparently his friend left his bike outside and Mason jumped on and rode it back to his house and has not looked back since. It's like the midget bike mafia gang has attacked our neighborhood since Mason and his friends all have little bikes they ride around together. It's pretty cute.

Thank You Allison and Paul!!!
Thank you for the awesome slip and slide, the kids love it. Mason's got the hang of it but Peyton just walks daintily down to the end then sits down in the water. Whenever I set it up, the neighborhood kids magically show up in swimsuits like moths to a flame. I suppose that's good that Peyton is taking it so slow so we don't have one of these on our hands

This looks just like Peyton, where did you find this picture Allison? Thank goodness Peyton is not as brave as this poor girl.
