The Big Two - Seven

So it was my birthday on Wednesday the 19th. It started out pretty typical which is to say it was lame. Mason had two potty accidents (more on that later) and I had to take Peyton to get her immunizations. It ended really well though because we went out to dinner as a family and Zach got me flowers and a KitchenAid Mixer. Yay Zach!

So the Mason potty training saga continues. A few weeks ago I was at my wits end with potty training Mason. I started last October and had tried everything from candy, stickers, toys, bribery with trips to Disneyland and being able to go to preschool and nothing was working. He was fully capable of controlling it but he just chose not to. Whenever I asked him if he wanted to use the potty, he would say "Not today." So one day I was telling him about how his cousin Bridgette who is a few months younger than him was potty training and was wearing underwear. He got really excited and said he wanted to call her and ask her who was on her undies. So he called her on the phone and they had a five minute conversation about using the potty and what kind of undies they wore. Since then Mason has not worn a diaper during the day. He's had a few accidents but otherwise it has been an amazing turn around. He is finally on his way. Thank you Bridgette for the motivation. I should have known that as a Leak male, competition is the only way to motivate him.

Pump It Up!

This is Mason's new favorite place to go. Its called Pump it Up and its one of those places that has a bunch of inflatable bouncy things. Its a good way to get all his energy out and make sure he takes a good nap. Last time Peyton and I even went on this slide together. It was pretty fun.

Hi Everyone... We Miss You!!

I was bathing Mason the other day and I was going to put Peyton in the baby tub when Mason was done. She was not very patient though. She was pulling herself up to standing but then she was leaning over trying to touch the water and almost pulled herself into the tub. I decided to just put her in with Mason. She was beyond excited. It was like a whole new world to her not to be in the baby tub.

The other day it was warm enough for us to go to the park. Peyton went on a swing for the very first time. She sat so still the whole time, she seemed so relaxed.

Denver Children's Museum

Peyton was not amused that she had to sit in the stroller most of the time. We didn't find the baby play area till the end.

Last weekend we went to the Denver Children's Museum. They had a lot of great activities. It was perfect for Mason because it was the kind of place you could run around and do whatever you want. He really liked the fire engine. They even had a special place for babies to play. It was a big plush "pond" with lily pads and stuffed frogs etc that Peyton could crawl around on.

Look what I can do!

I was talking to my dad the other day on the phone, Peyton was playing on the floor. I look over and this is what she is doing. What!? I couldn't believe it. She wasn't even holding on to the side of the toy bin, she was reaching inside to get a book. She pulled herself up all by herself. She is so tiny still but she's stronger than she looks.
