So it was a really nice day so we all decided to go for a walk around our neighborhood. We are about three houses down from us when this huge mangy looking german sheperd comes running towards us barking and growling. I take off running with the stroller so it won't attack the kids and Zach stays behind and has to fight it off. It's hair was all standing up on end and it was really aggressive and lunging at him but Zach stood his ground, yelled at it and it backed down. We then went over to our friend Jenn's house so we didn't have to walk right back past it. We called animal control. But we had to get back to our house so Zach and Jenn's husband Cesar are out at the corner making sure it is far enough away for us to run to our house. As they are standing there the dog starts back toward Zach. Zach picks up a rock and pretends to throw it and the dog doesn't back down right away so he raises his arm really high to throw the rock and the dog finally backs down. When it was far enough away we make a run for our house but the dog sees us and starts toward us again. Cesar had given us a broom handle and as soon as Zach raises it in the air like he's going to hit him he backs down and we made it to the house. It was really freaky because the dog was so huge. We almost let Mason walk by himself but I'm so glad we had him in the stroller. I really think that it would have attacked him. We are so lucky none of us got bit. The above photo is obviously not of the real dog as we didn't want to get close enough to take a picture. Zach said that the dog was more aggressive than most of the strays he came across in Mexico and he was more worried about getting bit than he ever was on his mission. So scary!!

Yikes. Now I'm even more convinced that dogs are evil! Good thing Zach picked up some mean-dog-scaring skills in Mexico. That thing could have eaten Peyton up in one bite!
I can't imagine how scary that must have been! Thank goodness he didn't hurt anyone.
I'm glad you guys are ok. I took Simone for her first walk in the stroller yesterday and I was worried about that very thing - there's a pretty big and scary dog that lives down the street - he's usually behind a fence, but I couldn't help but think what would I do if he got out and I had Simone in the stroller?! Scary.
yikes!!!!! Everyone's nightmare!!!-Aunt Kathy and Grandma Adamson
