Before
After
On Saturday the 17th I ran my first 5k, the Cottonwood Classic in Thornton, CO. I went with my friends Roberta and Stephanie. Roberta used to be in the army and left Steph and I in the dust. Steph stuck it out with me even though I probably was slowing her down. Thanks girls for motivating me! My goal was to finish it without walking and not come in last and I did it! My time was 35:01 and I placed 338 out of 425. Not great but definitely a place to start, hopefully I can do better next time.

Congrats on making it through your first 5k. I haven't even attempted one of those for fear of not making it. anyways the McCullochs just wanted to stop by and say hi. Your family is growing oh so fast! They are cute. We joined blogging now even though we dont' have kids you can check us two big kids out. nateandjulienne.blogspot.com
Good job Mer!!! 35 minutes is not a bad time at all for a 5k. It's so hard to get back into things after a baby...even if it has been almost a year!
very impressive indeed!!!
That's awesome, Mere! It is such a confidence booster to be able to accomplish your first 5K. Keep it up and you'll find you'll get faster and it'll be easier next time. Doesn't it feel good to run? I miss it. I can't wait to get back into it. We miss you guys. Can't wait to see you again. Love, Deb
You're my hero! I am signing up for a 5k in the fall as motivation to work out - but I'm scared to death that I won't be ready! This gives me hope! Good for you!
